Like every year, NetEnt also comes in 2019 with a Halloween slot completely in horror theme. This year it is The Wolf’s Bane slot. Do you dare to face the bloodthirsty werewolves? You can start this new adventure from October 24, 2019. Everything takes place in a medieval village that was destroyed by a pack of werewolves during the full moon. It looks like a Walibi Fright Nights. Are you ready for Halloween yet? In this article we explain everything about The Wolf’s Bane slot. The game can be played from the release at all our accredited NetEnt Casinos which you can find at the bottom of our slot review.
How does The Wolf’s Bane slot machine work?
The game has a usual playing field of five reels, three rows and ten fixed paylines. A winning combination is created when there are three consecutive identical symbols from left to right on a payline. The Wolf’s Bane slot can be played on any device from £/$/€0.10 to a maximum of £/$/€100 per spin with a payout percentage of 96.74%. The features can be compared to those of the Wild Wild West: The Great Train Heist slot. There is a Pick-and-Click feature and a Free spins feature. The features work exactly the same as with The Great Train Heist. If you know the game, you do not need any further explanation. For the others we explain it below.
The Wolf’s Bane Pick-and-Click feature.
The Pick-and-Click feature can be activated by having the Bonus symbol (the man with the crossbow) land on reels one, three and five. The player must then click on one of the three Bonus symbols to reveal its value. This can yield between 5 to 50 times the bet.
Free spins feature.
The Wolf’s Bane Free spins feature can be triggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols. Three Scatter symbols give ten free spins. You will then receive ten extra free spins per extra Scatter symbol. Before the free spins feature starts you will see a screen with four different Wilds:
- Regular Wilds: the regular Wild symbols.
- Expanding Wilds: Wild symbols that are expanding over the entire reel.
- Spreading Wilds: Wild symbols that spread.
- Multiplier Wilds: Wilds with a 2 × multiplier.
As soon as the player clicks on ‘Stop’ a random Wild modification will be chosen that will be active during the entire free spins session. Each spin will have one Overlay Wild appear anywhere on reel one, two or three with the same modification that is selected.
Symbols and symbol value of The Wolf’s Bane video slot.
In addition to the Wild and Scatter symbol, there are eight regular symbols, four of which are represented by four characters: a sister, a grave digger, an observer and a wounded soldier. The four low symbols are represented by the card games A, K, Q and J. You can see what the symbols look like and what the corresponding values are in the table below.
Our Wolf’s Night slot machine review.
NetEnt has not had much creativity. It seems more like it has become an obligation to release a slot every year during Halloween. The Wolf’s Bane is an exact copy of Wild Wild West: The Train Heist slot. It is not really an added value to NetEnt’s portfolio. Last year (2018) the Halloween Jack slot was also an exact copy of Jack and the Beanstalk slot. We don’t need copies, we want to see creativity in a new video slot. We give 2.3 out of 5 stars.
